Wenger second in July 11 make-up feature at Farmer City
McKay Wenger made the short 40-mile trip to Farmer City Raceway on Friday night to compete in a pair of Late Model features—a regularly scheduled event and a make-up feature from July 11.
In the rescheduled Big Daddy Scrap A-Main, Wenger ran second in the remainder of the 25-lapper, trailing Myles Moos. Later that evening, Wenger punched his ticket to the final feature with a heat race victory. However, contact with another competitor late in the race ended his night.
Although Friday’s damage forced Wenger to cancel his weekend plans to race in Indiana, his son Wyler provided a bright spot by capturing the first victory of his young career Sunday at Bohmer’s Route 66 Raceway.
