Wenger visits Farmer City for Illini 100 weekend
McKay Wenger journeyed to Farmer City (IL) Raceway this past weekend to do battle with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series for the 18th annual Illini 100.
With a stout field of 42 Late Models on the grounds, Wenger advanced into Friday’s preliminary with a consolation victory after missing a transfer spot by one car in his heat race. With a $10,000 preliminary payday up for grabs, McKay faded to 22nd at the checkers.
Back at the Illinois bullring on Saturday, McKay followed up an eighth-to-fifth showing in his heat race with the final transfer spot in his B-Main. Pinned on the 11th row for the $20,000-to-win Illini 100 finale, Wenger was an early retiree on lap 29.
