Wenger finds victory lane at Fairbury Speedway, earns $3,500
Fairbury, Illinois’ McKay Wenger was back behind the wheel of his Full Throttle Auto Body No. 42 Late Model at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) on Saturday afternoon for the Super Late Model portion of the Bill Waite Jr. Memorial.
Following the fourth-fastest qualifying effort, Wenger outran Ryan Unzicker in his heat race to pick up the 10-lap victory. Keeping Unzicker at bay after a handful of cautions in the 30-lap feature, McKay rolled to his first win of the season and a $3,500 FALS Cup payday. He finished 2.489 seconds ahead of Unzicker with Rich Bell, Todd Bennett, and Carson Brown completing the top-five finishers.
