Wenger leads first 23 laps, finishes second in Hell Tour stop at FCR

McKay Wenger returned to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) on Friday afternoon to defend his home turf against a field of 40 DIRTcar Summer Nationals entries. With the field split into two separate groups for qualifying, McKay timed in fifth fastest in his group before picking up a 10-lap heat race victory. Earning the pole position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main via the redraw, Wenger shot out to an early race lead and paced the field for 23 circuits until Shannon Babb snuck by. He went on to place second behind Babb with Garrett Alberson, Brain Shirley, and Joe Godsey rounding out the Top-5. (Josh James Artwork)

Saturday’s FAS Cup event at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) fell victim to Mother Nature.
