Wenger Takes 2nd in "Monster Midwest Tour" |
The Monster Midwest Tour paying the
UMP Modifieds $750 to win at six different tracks in
consecutive nights rolled through Illinois this past week.
After fixing his car following a bad wreck at Fairbury last
Saturday night, McKay competed in every night of the tour.
Although having bad luck at LaSalle, Spoon River and Farmer
City, McKay was able to nab 3 top fives on his way to
picking up the $500 bonus for 2nd in the tour points.
Wenger opened up the tour with a 2nd place finish at Peoria.
Fairbury brought another 2nd place finish and at Lincoln,

Hunt Heats Up - Both Locally and Nationally |
As
July temperatures start to rise, the hunt for UMP National
Points continues for 5 time 2008 Feature winner McKay
Wenger. He currently leads the UMP Northern Region in
points, sits 4th in Illinois state points, and 8th overall.
Along with his success in the National points, Wenger is
racking up local points and is contending for two different
track championships. He's leading the points at the
Vermillion County Speedway in Danville and sits in 3rd
within strike of two-time defending champion Dave Porth at
the Fairbury American Legion Speedway.
From his first year in a modified, Wenger has had success.
When asked of his 2008 success, Mckay responded "experience"
is the key factor. He has traveled to many different
tracks and raced on different track surfaces. The
experience is what Wenger hopes will bring him to his 2008
goal of track championships at both Danville and Fairbury.
